Addicted to TV?
This is an interesting read. Though I question, if one is professing that they “are addicted” doesn’t that in itself mean that they are not. Aren’t most (real) addicts in denial…?

While this article was written for people in HR, I feel it is an important read for anyone in marketing or anyone who does not already understand the importance of culture.

The Power of the Internet
More often than not, a harmless hobby can spiral out of control and become an obsession. The Internet has so much power; one must be careful not to lose control of the relationship.

The cost of entertainment
It’s unfortunate what reality TV does, not only to its audience, but to those in the spotlight. Yes, reality TV is mindless entertainment (or as I like to refer- media fluff), but not everyone treats it as such. I find it horrifying when youngsters idolize “The Situation” or Snooki. Society needs to be more aware of just what their media consumption does to them.

Wake-up call: oh no "Sadie"!
Here’s an eye-opening read about the teen segment’s media consumption. It’s sad, but true! In my research, it has become apparent that teens are not taught how to properly use technology. Social networking is going nowhere- there is no use in trying to get rid of it- teens today need to be educated on how to apply it to their daily lives. They need to be educated on its pros and cons. In addition to this article, I would highly recommend the PBS specials Growing Up Online and Digital Nation.

"Old media have little choice but to play by new-media rules"
“I’m not thinking the way I used to think”. This article is an excellent read, for it really paints a picture on just how much our lives have been changed because of the internet. The internet has over-simplified our lives so much so that we are no longer capable of completing tasks the ways in which we were once able to.
What are the implications of this trend on the younger generations?

Remain in Control
The relationship between user and machine (technology) is capable of endless benefits to both parties. Technology becomes dangerous when we (the user) allow it to gain control of our relationship.
